This articles outlines our plans and estimated timelines for supporting IBM Liberty.
The following Infogix products leverage IBM WebSphere:
- Infogix Assure
- Infogix Insight
- Infogix Perceive
- Infogix ER
Each of these products has IBM Liberty within their product roadmap.
Infogix roadmap for IBM Liberty support
The timelines below may change as research and development for IBM Liberty continues.
In Infogix version 9.5, a fixpack is slated to be released mid-2022 to add IBM Liberty support. The initial 9.5 release is slated for January 2022 release. The following application servers are slated for support:
- IBM WebSphere 8.5.5 and 9.0
- IBM Liberty (with mid-2022 fixpack)
- Wildfly
In Infogix version 9.6, slated for January 2023 release, the following application servers are slated for support:
- IBM WebSphere 9.0
- IBM Liberty
- Wildfly
Due to upgraded libraries, Infogix version 9.6 will not work with WebSphere 8.5.5.
Open Liberty versus WebSphere Liberty
IBM has two variants of Liberty: Open Liberty and WebSphere Liberty. Open Liberty is open-source while WebSphere Liberty is licensable and has closed-source additions to the Open Liberty platform.
Infogix is researching whether our products are able to support Open Liberty. It is currently unknown whether both Open Liberty and WebSphere Liberty will be supported or if solely WebSphere Liberty will be supported. This article will be updated as research progresses and specific variants of IBM Liberty are determined.

Can you provide the end of support dates for WAS 8.5.5 and 9.0 from an Infogix perspective? As you noted, software updates for WAS 8.5.5 will end with ER 9.5 in 2022 with the focus on WAS 9.0 in 2023. IBM will support both WAS versions until 2030.
I'll follow this article as I'm interested in any updates on the support for OpenLiberty.
