In this article you will be able to successfully connect ACR/Workbench to the Mainframe.
Primarily we will begin with starting ACR/Workbench and selecting options, followed by the configurations tab option:
Within the configurations panel we would then select the add option. You will then name your connection to distinguish from the default options, or additional connections configured.
While still in the Name tab you will need to enter your server's IP address and platform type.
Now we will navigate to the File information tab, and ensure that both the Definition and History databases are enabled and configured locally for ACR/Workbench.
The internet information tab can be skipped and you will only be able to access the FTP side, if you are setting your connection for windows only at this time.
Moving on to the z/OS information tab. Here you will enter your mainframe ID and password. You will need to be certain your job card information is spaced, and filled out properly. The same follows for justifying your SERPLIB, UNICF card, JCL Library and your Transaction library. If this information is off by a space, or incorrect character, your connection will fall through.
Next, we will test the connection. From the navigation pane please select the drop down, and select your configured connection name.
At the very bottom of workbench you can see that the connection is established as all of the information was keyed in properly. Though the job failed, as this particular job has not been established in the mainframe DEFNLIB.
Now I'm running the job local to Workbench, Please note that the job completed successfully.
