Assure 8.5 enhancements include:
Calendars Filter and Export/Import
The Manage Calendars page is enhanced to offer filtering on Name, type, modified since (date), modified by (user ID), and secured by (Security Profile). In addition, users can now export and import selected calendars.
Layout Fields Tab Multiple Field Cut/Copy/Paste
The Fields tab of Layouts is enhanced to allow the selection of multiple fields for cut and copy operations. All of the cut or copied fields can be pasted in a new location within the same layout. This capability increases rules writing productivity and accuracy when building complex group field structures.
Reconciliation Check Copy and Paste
On the Validate tab of a reconciliation task popup, users can now duplicate a reconciliation check such as a balance check by using the copy and paste icons.
Silent Expression Element Removal
Users can now specify a user preference not to receive an “Are you sure” prompt for the removal of field references, operators, literals or functions within an expression like those found on the Extract tab of a capture source. This user preference is applied to all pages that offer the equation builder buttons (Add Field, Add Function, Add Operator, Add Literal).
Big Data JDBC Access Certification
Infogix Assure database layouts using JDBC to access big data repositories have been tested to capture data from:
- Apache Hadoop (HIVE) 1.0
- Apache Cassandra (using cassandra-jdbc-2.1.1)
- MongoDB (using Unity JDBC 3.0.6)
Server Managed Client
In addition to the traditional Infogix Assure client, which is separately installed and managed in a client environment, the Infogix Assure server can also be configured to offer a server-managed client. When enabled, an Administrator can download the managed client from the server and complete an easy installation. The managed client that is downloaded is pre-configured to connect to the server it was downloaded from and to automatically update itself as the server installation has patches, fix packs, or even release upgrades applied to it. The managed client is the preferred client for customers who are using Infogix Assure in the cloud managed by Infogix.
Client Local Capture from Database with Data Source Definition
Previously, database layouts defined to access data via a JNDI data source name could not be used from the Infogix Assure client performing local capture. Now, the system can generate and use a new properties file called datasources.properties, which you can complete, and the system will use these properties to simulate JNDI usage in a local capture execution. This feature allows you to use JNDI data source references in database layouts and will eliminate the need to manage database access credentials in database layout rules.
Controls Catalog Report
This new system-wide report can list all control points in all control entities and data quality applications. For each control point listed, the system includes the date the control point was last modified and who made that modification. Additionally, the system reports how many times the control point was run in the current calendar month and 5 previous calendar months. Alternatively, instead of the 5 previous calendar months, you can report execution counts for the current and 4 previous calendar quarters. This report provides management insight into the controls being built within the product and which have been recently active.
Data Quality Controls - Data Element Express
Data Element Express allows you to quickly create data elements within your application from the fields of a data source in the application. Data element express can use the results of a data profile execution to quickly establish completeness, type conformance and value conformance checks.
Data Quality Controls - Data Profiling
You can now perform analysis on the fields of a data source prior to establishing any data elements. For each field you wish to profile, you can perform the following kinds of analysis:
- Null versus Non-Null
- Distinct/Unique values
- Minimum
- Maximum
- Average
- Median
- Minimum Length (text)
- Maximum Length (text)
- Average Length (text)
- Median Length (text)
Performing this analysis on your data source fields allows you to better understand the profile of your data and establish more meaningful data element quality checks.
OWASP Encoder
The Platform now uses the OWASP Encoder to defend against Cross-Site Scripting attacks.
User input is encoded with the OWASP Encoder to prevent the execution of a malicious script.
Embedded Directory: User Access Reports
For embedded directory deployments only, an administrator or a super user can generate a report that shows a list of users that can access the product. The report includes user attributes such as name, email/pager information, Roles, last login, and last password changed information.
Embedded Directory: Audit Logging
For embedded directory deployments only, failed login attempts are now logged in the audit logs. The log message includes timestamp, name of the affected data and system component, and the identity of the user affecting the modification.
Embedded Directory: Password Security and Complexity
Password and Account lockout policies determine the strength of the passwords and control when the accounts are locked out of Infogix products.
Embedded directory users can now configure their site-specific Password Complexity, Maximum password age, Enforce password history, Force password change after first use, and Account lockout policies.
Please see Embedded Directory Properties section in the Infogix Properties Guide for more information.
Event Subscription Management
Infogix products use event subscriptions for internal and cross product communication. The Event Subscription management functionality adds the ability to correct an incorrect remote event configuration. Common errors include an incorrect remote host or port number that prevents the delivery of remote events. For example, an incorrect listener property can prevent Infogix Insight and Infogix Perceive from receiving Infogix Assure events.
Users can now view and update the connection properties when the hostnames are changed, or when the product is deployed on a new host.
Warning: Any changes to event subscription details can result in undesirable product functionality and loss of data. Do not make any changes unless advised by Infogix Customer Support.
Infogix Administrative Console: Process & Memory Viewer Improvements
- To reduce clutter on the screen, System Processes such as Results Action Rule Process, Search Indexing Process and Retention Process information are no longer displayed by default. Users can add those processes to the display by selecting “Include System Processes” option in the Filter criteria.
- Users have the ability to view Control Point execution logs by double clicking the bar. Now, administrators will have the ability to view updated logs from a long running control point by clicking “Refresh” without having the need to close and re-open.
- Users now have the ability to stop a process gracefully. Double click the running process, and select “Stop Process” to stop the process. This eliminates the need to kill a process forcefully from the operating system, or shutting down the server."
