Perceive 3.5 enhancements include:
Configure the Total Size Limit of All Attachments Sent in an Email
The REPORT_ATTACH_SIZE_LIMIT property in the IV.properties file has a default value of 30 MB, but it can be configured as required. A property value of 30 means that the sum total of all attached report files must be less than or equal to 30 MB in size. If not, none of the report files are attached to the email.
Provide a Security Profile When Creating a New Data Entity
Users must click the Security Profile picker to select a required security profile. The Default Security Profile does not appear by default when a new data entity is created.
Assign a Security Profile to Multiple Object Types
A security profile can be assigned to data entities, data views, source systems, calendars, and more on the Manage Permissions page.
Provide Source System Inbound Credentials
Inbound User Name and Inbound Password fields nave been added to the Source System page where credentials can be defined for access from other Infogix Products to Perceive. The inbound username/password defined in the source system takes precedence over the system-defined username/password (HTTP_USER_NAME/HTTP_PASSWORD) in the appserver.properties file.
View Process Details
A “Process Details” option has been added under the View menu to display the Perceive-related process information such as name, type, start date, duration, and status. Users can click each process to view the detailed process results/errors in the bottom panel of the page.
Create a .zip File for Reports Defined in a Report Event
All reports defined in a Report Event can now be zipped into one file in the report notification email.
Trigger Report Event after Extract Event Completes
The Report Event triggers reports after all data extracts associated with that Extract Event are complete.
Combine Reports and Emails in the Report Event
The 'Send One Email' option in the Default Specification tab provides the option to send only one email for all the reports defined in the Report Event.
Archiving Reports in the Repository
Reports in the Report Repository are moved to an archive based on the configured REPORT_RETENTION_POLICY_DAYS property. When it is set to a numeric value, generated reports older than that value will be archived in the file system at the location specified in the REPORT_ARCHIVE_HOME property and purged from the database.
Data Entity Synchronization Monitoring and Alert
When a source system entity is not synchronized with the Infogix Perceive target, a red flag appears before the data entity name in the Data Entities page. Users can open the data entity and click Synchronize to sync the source system entity and the target.
Audit and Monitoring
An Administrator can view the default audit events if the Infogix Auditing license is enabled.
Platform Thread Resource Usage Optimization
Fewer thread resources are used with Caching, Process Management, and Cluster Commands. Additionally, the platform specific thread names are prefixed with the product name and category. This is particularly helpful to:
- Identify problems when multiple applications run on the same JVM™.
- Analyze Thread Dumps and Heap Dumps.
Configuration Independent Product .ear File
This enhancement simplifies console-based WebSphere® deployments across multiple environments. In the prior releases, the .ear file generated by the dist.bat (or dist.sh), contained certain environment specific information that prevented the use of the same .ear file across different environments.
The enhancement provides the ability to re-use the same .ear file across multiple environments, when Infogix products are deployed manually from the WebSphere administrative console. Additionally, the product patching process is simplified as there is only one .ear file that must be patched.
Enforcing Strong Password Usage in Embedded Directory Deployments
The enhancement provides the ability to enforce the use of strong passwords in Embedded Directory deployments.
Enable the EMBEDDED_DIR_STRONG_PASSWORD_SECURITY property to impose strong passwords. You can configure region specific password policy settings, and also define the password complexity. For more information, see the Infogix Properties Guide.
Infogix Administrative Console: Health Checker Improvements
Health Checker feature is now available in Infogix ER, Infogix Insight and Infogix Perceive. You can run health checks to detect general problems at the platform-level such as runtime problems with clustering, database, file systems, and configuration.
Process and Memory Viewer is now Supported on Unix®/Linux®
The Process and Memory Viewer that is accessible from the Infogix Assure administrative console, is now supported for product deployments on the Unix®/Linux® environments.
