Perceive 2.0 enhancements include:
Sort Infogix ER Recon Entity Source Systems Alphabetically
Previously, Infogix Assure control entity source systems and control data entities sorted and printed correctly in alphabetical order, as did Infogix ER™ reconciliation data entities. However, Infogix ER reconciliation entity source systems do not display in alphabetical order.
This has been fixed so that the reconciliation entity source systems display and print correctly in alphabetical order.
Assigned Security Profile Retained After Saving Data View
Previously, the security profile assigned to a data view reverted to the Default Profile if the user clicked Save before the system had time to apply the correct security profile to the data view.
This has been fixed so the correct security profile is retained after the data view is saved.
Extract Current Infogix ER Data for Recon Data Entity
Previously, users received a java.lang.ArithmeticException: Overflow error when extracting Current data from Infogix ER, resulting in reconciliation data entity failure.
This has been corrected so that Current data can be extracted from Infogix ER without generating an exception error.
Audit Reports Save Display Options by Default
Previously, when the Audit Report’s Controls Layout was edited, the display settings were not retained by default.
This has been corrected so that the display settings persist and do not have to be set each time the Audit Report is run.
Export Reports as Text Files
Previously, when a report event was exported as a .txt file, an exception error was generated.
This has been corrected so that report events can be exported as .txt without error.
Table Information Displays after Clicking Inspect Database Table
Previously, when a user opened an output data entity, selected a database table, and clicked the Inspect button, the table information did not display the first time the Inspect button was clicked.
This has been corrected so that that table information displays the first time the Inspect button is clicked.
Save Ad Hoc Reports as Topics within DataView Folders
Previously, when a user created an Ad Hoc report, the report could not be saved as a topic in the DataView folder.
Reports Exported as XLS Do Not Wrap Content of Cells
Previously, when an Infogix Perceive report was exported as a Microsoft Excel XLS file, cells wrapped if the amount of text exceeded the width of the column set when the report was designed. This occurred because headers did not export.
This has been corrected so that the cells in the XLS and XLSX files do not wrap to accommodate the text contained within the cell.
Reports Exported as XLS Automatically Expand Cell Height
Previously, when an Infogix Perceive report was exported as a Microsoft Excel XLS file, cells merged if the amount of text exceeded the width of the column set when the report was designed. This occurred because headers did not export. Therefore, the height of the cells displayed in the XLS files did not automatically expand to accommodate the amount of text if the column width specified during report design was too small.
This has been corrected so that the height of the cells in the XLS and XLSX files automatically expands to accommodate the text contained within the cell.
Reports Exported as XLS Display in Numeric Format
Previously, when an Infogix Perceive report was exported as a Microsoft® Excel® XLS file, the numbers erroneously displayed as text.
Reports can now be exported as Microsoft Excel XLSX files. Because the XLSX file format is dynamically determined by the type of data, numbers correctly retain their numeric field data type.
Control Entities List Recon Names for Recon Extract Event
Previously, when creating an Infogix ER reconciliation extract event, the control entities listed the reconciliation IDs instead of the reconciliation names.
This has been fixed so that reconciliation names are listed.
Infogix Perceive Report Component Displays Correctly in Infogix Nexix
Previously, when accessing the Infogix Perceive Reports interface from within Infogix Nexix, the report component would occasionally overlap the Infogix Nexix navigation panel links.
This has been corrected by adding code to handle an iFrame issue, which prevents the report component from overlapping the Infogix Nexix navigation panel links.
Include Running Processes When Processes Filter Status Set to All
Previously, processes with a status of Running were not displayed when the Manage Processes filter status was set to All.
This has been fixed at the platform level so that processes with a status of Running display when the Status filter field is set to All.
Create a New Data Entity from Manage Source Systems
Users can create a new data entity from the Manage Source Systems > Entities page. When a user double-clicks an entity contained in an existing source system, a new data entity tab displays with the source system information populated.
Clear Output Data Entity Details When Output Type Changes
Previously, when a user created a new output data entity and selected Infogix Assure® Result Catalog, Infogix Assure Result Template, Infogix Assure Match Set Audit Report, or Infogix Assure Recon Task Report in the Type drop-down field on the Details tab, and then later changed the output type, the additional tabs in the Explorer pane on the left-hand side of the window did not appropriately update to reflect the newly selected Type.
This has been fixed so that the appropriate additional tabs display in the Explorer pane each time the Type on the Details tab is changed.
Security Profile Changes Persisted in Reports Interface
Security profile changes made in the Data Management interface previously did not take effect in the Reports interface until Infogix Perceive was restarted. Code changes were made so security profile changes are applied in the Reports interface.
Generate a Table Definition Report
Users can generate a report of selected table definitions when reconciliation entity data or control entity data is loaded to an internal target database. The Table Definition Report lists the selected outputs, as well as the internal table names.
Always Show Context Help Menu Option
Users can choose to have the context help automatically display for every page by clicking View > Always Show Context Help. This prevents the need of clicking Help on each individual page.
Additional Recon Data Entity Outputs Reflected in Domains
When creating an Ad Hoc report that uses a reconciliation data entity-based domain, the following outputs have been included in the domain:
- Activity log
- Notes
- File attachments
- Emails outputs
Outputs for Notes, File Attachments, and Emails Added
For a reconciliation data entity with an internal target, outputs for notes, file attachments, and emails are now available.
Recon Data Entity Activity Log Support
For a reconciliation data entity, the reconciliation activity log can now be selected as an output. If the target is external, the user can map the fields in the activity log tables.
Reconciliation History Output Option Enabled
For a reconciliation data entity, the Historical Entity Output option is selected by default on the Details page. In Infogix Perceive 2.0, the option to deselect the History entity output is enabled.
Access to Repository through Infogix Nexix
With Infogix Nexix™ and Infogix Perceive licensing, additional reporting components are available: the report repository list component, and the report repository output list component. The report repository list component functions the same as the Infogix Perceive 1.6 report list component, which is still available for backward compatibility.
Manage Permissions
Under the Manage menu, the menu option Permissions is available. The Manage Permissions page allows a user in the Security Admin role or Superuser role to select one or more Infogix Perceive objects and assign the same security profile to all the selected objects.
Ensure Column Selected When Running Extract Event
Previously, when an extract event was run on a file target, and no columns on the mappings page were selected, the extract should have failed. Instead, the user received the following message in the email: “[Number of] records extracted, [number of] records failed to extract.”
This has been corrected by adding a validator that ensures at least one column is selected before running an extract event on a file target.
Report Viewers Can Open Report Outputs on Home Page
Previously, in the Reports interface, Report Viewers were unable to open report outputs on the home page.
This has been fixed so that Report Viewers can view report outputs on the home page in the Reports interface.
User-Defined Security Profiles Accurately Determine Access
Previously, users who were assigned a user-defined security profile that should have granted them permission to view reports and data views could not access reports.
This has been corrected so that security profiles and permissions assignment restrict and allow access to features as expected.
Ability to Toggle Event Status for Multiple Events
Users can now change the status of multiple Extract Events or Report Events from the Manage Extract Events or Manage Report Events page. A Toggle Status button allows users to change the status of the selected events from enabled to disabled, or from disabled to enabled. The Toggle Status option is not available if the selected events do not all have the same status.
Ad Hoc Cache Menu Options Available for Administrators
Previously, in the Reports interface, the Ad Hoc Cache options were not available for Administrators.
This has been corrected so that Administrators have access to the Ad Hoc menu options in the Reports interface.
Enhanced WebSphere Deployments
Many of the tasks to deploy on WebSphere have been automated. The following enhancements simplify deployment on a WebSphere application server:
- The validate-config script now validates the following settings, which reduces the chance of deployment errors:
- WebSphere server settings
- Node names
- Whether Java 2 security is disabled. If Java 2 security is enabled, the system sends a message.
- When creating data sources, the system automatically configures the path for the JDBC drivers.
- The deployment process sets the value for the HTTP, SSL, and transaction timeouts.
- The deployment process configures the class loaders.
- The deployment process automatically sets the heap size.
- The deployment process automatically sets the JVM arguments.
- For Windows, UNIX, and Linux, the system configures the JVM settings for your Infogix application to use Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4).
Control Override Values
Previously, files in the CONFIG_OVERRIDE folder were not copied over during migration. As a result, customers who upgraded did not retain the customized properties in this folder.
Beginning with this release, you have the option to override the values on a file by file or property by property basis.
The migrate-config script brings in the values from your previous configuration and the deployment process overrides the properties with your customized values.
Clustering Enhancements
Several enhancements improve the process of setting up a clustered environment.
Duplicate Cluster Settings
For all application servers, the validate-config script checks the multicast port and multicast address to look for duplicates in other environments. This change helps to eliminate errors and to prevent unanticipated behavior that can occur if two or more products use the same multicast port and address.
Unique Log File Names
You are no longer required to set up a local configuration for a clustered environment. The host name is added as a prefix to the log file name to identify the log for each configuration.
For JBoss and WebSphere, the property that controls the JVM arguments for the server also controls the naming of the server log files to reflect the unique server name.
In JBoss, the property is JBOSS_APP_TARGETx.JBOSS_APP_JAVA_OPTIONS, and in WebSphere, the property is WEBSPHERE_APP_TARGET.JAVA_OPTIONS.x, where x represents the server.
Infogix Assure API Settings
For a WebSphere cluster, the deployment automatically sets the value for the following API settings: DIA.TOTAL_PROCESSORS, DIA.PARTITION_START, and DIA.PARTITION_END. Previously, a user had to specify the startup options.
Infogix Administrative Console
Infogix applications now have access to an administrative console. From within the console user interface, an administrator can collect diagnostic data without third-party intervention.
Customers can work with support personnel to generate the necessary data to diagnose run-time problems, and to send the data to support, as applicable.
You can use the console to perform the following tasks:
- Configure logging for a specific area of your Infogix application
- Enable the collection of data to show memory and CPU usage
- Generate heap dumps on demand and copy them to a specified location
- Generate thread dumps
- Create a diagnostic package that includes thread dumps, log files, configuration files, and system information
- View specific configuration or log files
Multiple Deployments of the Same Solution on a Single Server
You can now deploy multiple instances of an Infogix application under a single application server instance. This reduces the number of application server instances that an administrator must run and maintain. The instances can run simultaneously; the only constraint is the memory available on the application server. Patches must be applied separately to each instance of the application.
