ACR/Summary 4.4 enhancements includes:
Free-Form Report: Display Return Code Messages
In ACR/Summary and ACR/Detail, a user can choose to display the return code message for any out-of-balance rule. Previously, the Free-Form Report showed only the highest return code message.
Free-Form Report: Remove ASA Characters
In ACR/Summary and ACR/Detail, a user can choose whether to print the report without ASA characters by setting the Print with ASA characters flag to N.
If the report is printed without ASA characters, the following will occur:
- The report will start with column 1.
- If you run the job online, the first position in the report will be truncated.
Select Statements Allow Comparison Against Extended Values
When you define the selection criteria to evaluate records for balancing or reconciliation, or for building external translation tables, a new option allows you to indicate that the source value, which can be from an input source or extraction variable, will be compared to one or more extended literals (numbers with 16 to 30 digits or text values with 9 to 80 characters).
For balancing and reconciliation, you can compare the source value against either individual extended values or ranges of extended values.
For building an external translation table, you can compare the source value against individual extended values only. Ranges are not supported.
New Audit Information on Definition Updates
ACR/Summary and ACR/Detail now capture information on the most recent updates to definitions (control sets). This data includes the date and time of the change as well as the following:
- For z/OS, the ID associated with the change
- For Windows, UNIX, and Linux, the first 16 characters of the hostname of the operating system making the change
On the mainframe, you can view this information online for the following definition types:
- Jobs (including User Reports and Free-form Reports)
- Files
- User Reports (ACR/Detail)
- External translation tables
- Internal translation tables
- Cycle tables
- History analysis definitions
A new database report utility, the Control Update Information Report Utility, creates a report with this information for your definitions. The definition listing reports will also show this information for each definition set.
The audit information will be passed to Infogix Insight.
DB2 SQL Can be Displayed in SYSOUT
For DB2 jobs, a new option has been added to have the SQL that is being executed display in SYSOUT at run time. This option is available whether you use the newer DB2 Freeform Editor or the original DB2 Extraction method.
Allow the ACRJCL40 Summary Report to Show Only the Changed Members
When you run the ACR/Summary and ACR/Detail JCL Conversion Job to upgrade ACR/Summary and ACR/Detail from a pre-4.0 release, two reports are generated:
- The JCL Conversion Summary Report (DDName ACRSUMM)
- The JCL Conversion Detailed Report (DDName ACRDRPT)
A new parameter has been added to the ACRJCL40 JCL, so that the Summary Report will show the names of the members changed (or potentially changed if you are using Report Only mode), but will omit the names of the members that do not need changes.
All Online Programs are Now Compiled into a Single Loadlib
The TSO.LOADLIB is no longer used. All online programs are now compiled into the LOADLIB. When you install ACR/Summary or ACR/Detail, this eliminates the need to have the first CLIST if the loadlib is in the LINKLIST.
Enter 'E' to Open the Extract Window
Now, when you want to create or edit file definitions for an input source on z/OS, you can simply enter E or e next to the input source. (You can still use the existing method of selecting Window > Extract).
Extract History "Value Not Extracted" Message
Numeric extended history items that are not extracted will now be marked VALUE NOT EXTRACTED on the Control Report. This processing is consistent with that of non-extended history items.
Extended History Item Column Widths in User Report
The extended column width option is now available for history items in the User Report.
