Introduction
The purpose of this document is to demonstrate how to utilize the Analyze scoring dataflow that creates and updates data governance scores in Data360 Govern. To utilize the Analyze scoring dataflow, the Data360 Govern score configuration needs to incorporate API information and the Analyze dataflow needs to be connected to the Data360 Govern environment.
If you’re interested in using the scoring capability and require the Analyze dataflow, please reach out to Support or your Govern representative.
When implementing the standard Analyze scoring dataflow, there are a few things to keep in mind from a Govern perspective and an Analyze perspective.
Data360 Govern
- Gather the requirements for scoring asset that you are interested in tracking progress of, including the criteria and weight. Scoring requirements can be defined for Artifacts, Models and Policies
- Ensure you have read the directions for how to define scoring requirements in Data360 Govern.
- While defining requirements it is important to ensure that the ‘Description’ field is populated with the supported API format to integrate correctly with Data360 Analyze. Within the Data360 Govern documentation about metrics, pay close attention to the table under “Complete the form” because this describes the API format integration requirements.
Data360 Analyze
- Once you have configured the scoring requirements in Data360 Govern, then you can import the dataflow into Data360 Analyze. Here is the link for direction to import an Analyze dataflow.
- Infogix recommends placing the version number in the dataflow name. This number will help the Support team assist you, should assistance be required at any point.
- 2 variables will need to be adjusted in the dataflow
- Put in the Data360 Govern domain name of the environment you are connecting to
- This information can be found within other dataflows or you can ask our Support team to provide you with the information.
- Put in the APIKey and APISecret of the Data360 Govern environment you are connecting to. Use the APIKey and APISecret of the Analyze ServiceAccount being used in this environment.
- This information can be found within other dataflows or you can ask our Support team to provide you with the information.
- If Analyze ServiceAccount does not exist in the Data360 Govern environment as a Data360 Govern user, customers can have one created by sending a request via Zendesk to the Support Team.
- Once you have made the configuration changes, then run the dataflow
- After it runs, you should see results on the Data360 Govern asset, in the top left corner
- Allow 10-15 minutes for the score to appear in Data360 Govern after the dataflow has completed running.
- Once it has run successfully, then you can create a schedule for the dataflow to run. Infogix recommends having the scoring dataflow run once a day.
- For more information about the Analyze scoring dataflow see Govern Administrative documentation
