In this article, we'll go over a couple ways that you can implement alerts in Assure to prevent slowdown when controls generate a lot of alerts.
"Limit Per Day"
If you're running a Detail Control Entity with Alerts in their control points, you'll find that you can generate a large number of alerts very quickly. If you don't need all of those and just want to be notified a certain number of times, you can enforce this with the "Limit Per Day" setting in your Result Action for the control point by setting that to a low number.
Scan Control Point
If you need to know how many times an alert was triggered, instead of sending an alert every time it's triggered, you can create a Scan Control Point that will tally how many times a result is triggered in the original control point. Once that finishes, it will send a single alert that shows you the final tally. You can implement this as a way to track how many times a control point succeeded or failed by tallying the "failed" or "successful" results as well.
