This article assumes you are already familiar with creating Data Stores, Data Views and Dashboards within DQ+.
- Create a Data Store that contains individual columns for Latitude and Longitude.
- Create a Data View that contains the data from the Data Store above.
- Within the Data View stage, go to the Dimensions tab.
- Right click the Dimensions and add a Geo Field:
- Right click the new Geo Field and add two fields - one named Latitude and one named Longitude. These field names are mandatory, but the display names can be something else. Map these fields to your Data Store's Latitude and Longitude fields.
- Add any other fields to report on, such as IDs to perform a count on in a later step. Note that you should add a Display Name to these fields, or they will be labelled as blank in the dashboard.
- Back in your pipeline, add a Dashboard and select the Data View created above.
- Drag the Chart or Table icon into your dashboard canvas:
- Select Map, and then the region that you wish to map coordinates on. This example will use the high-resolution world map to enable zooming in:
- Add the individual Latitude and Longitude fields to the top axis and your data field on the left axis.
Next, click your data field within the axis and switch the type to Bubble or Marker- your data will not display without making this change. Bubble will increase the size of the dot based on your data value, while Marker will change the shading of the dot based on your data value. - The coordinate data will now display across the map.
