Failures:
If you encounter any issues or installer messages while upgrading / installing, please raise a Support ticket and attach the log files of interest mentioned below
Background:
IMPORTANT NOTE: During an installation or an upgrade, a log file called lae-maintenance.log is created. If the installer displays an error or any kind of message, please DO NOT click OK on the message. When OK is clicked, the lae-maintenance log disappears.
If you get any messages, please follow the direction under the Failures section of this article.
SERVER INSTALLATIONS / UPGRADES
Pre-requisite steps:
- Ensure you have a least one recent backup (lxp file). These can be found under <dataDirectory/site-7731
- If you're running the server version, ensure the Analyze Services / tasks are shut down beforehand
Precautions:
During the upgrade process, the installer creates a backup. If space is an issue on your machine, the space required by the installer may be too much. These steps may help to avoid running out of disk space:
> Move the /data/executions folder out of the /data folder but keep them within the same drive
> Run the upgrade - this will prevent all the temp data being copied into a backup
> Post install, move it back - this will give you access to your temp data post install
Log files of interest:
- Anything under <dataDirectory>site-7731/logs. During the install / upgrade process, the lae-maintenance log is of particular interest.
- The installation.log and response.varfile under <installDirectory> Data360Analyze\install4j
Linux users:
You can cd to the site-7731/log folder and run "tail -f lae-maintenance.log" to track the progress of the install.
