When a node is failing you may be asked by Support to send the node logs.
NOTE: If you have a composite node that is failing, please drill down through the layers until you find the individual node that failed and then follow the steps below to capture the node log
1. click on the node
2. scroll down to the Common section
3. under LogLevel, set it to zero. This will write the most information to the log
4. re-run the node
5. at the top of the node properties panel, click View Node Log
6. click Download
7. in the new window, select the items you wish to have included in the download.
The most important ones are:
A) Diagnostics
B) Input/Output Data
C) Data Flow with Dependencies
8. click Download again and the file will be written to your Downloads folder & will look like this:
OTHER METHOD TO GET NODE LOGS:
In some cases, the node log may be empty - in this case these steps should be followed:
1. go into the Data Flow
2. re-run just node that's failing
3. in this location find the folder that has been modified last and go into it: <data-7731-location>/executions/<username>/<dataFlowName>/
4. get the latest *.log file(s) which have just been created by running the node
