    Dear Robert,

I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling to share data flows.  Using a pre-release version of the Dataverse 3.1.3 server, two of our engineers edited public data flows created by the admin user.  This implies that this issue may be isolated to 3.1.2.

As for restricting users to only running data flows, let me check with our Engineering team to get the full picture.

The 3.1.3 release of Dataverse should be available any day.

    Hope that helps,

    Rocco

    Dear Rob,

To answer your questions about the functionality of the "My Documents" folder versus the "Public Documents" folder, the idea most certainly is collaboration.  However, the collaboration is focused around data flow designers.  Therefore, other users with the "End User" role can edit anything in the Public Documents folder.

In 3.1.4, there will be a new user role called Explorer in which users can see and run data flows without being able to make changes.  My understanding is that this role applies to all data flows that are shared with this user.  3.1.4 should be out in the next month or so.

Later in Q3, Dataverse users will be able to group data flows into folders in order to limit access to only certain users.  This may also help with the situation you describe.

Feel free to write back if you have any additional questions.

    Rocco
