When a scheduled data flow run fails, the system is configured to run the 'Data360 Failed Schedule Email Notification' data flow - as described in the 'System administration' > 'Configuring schedule emails' topic of the Help documentation (see here for the online version of the Help topic).

If you want to use email notifications of a scheduled run failure then yes, you need to configure the Send Email node in the 'Data360 Failed Schedule Email Notification' data flow with the appropriate SMTP server details.

However, as described in the Help documentation, the administrator is able to select the data flow that is run when a scheduled run fails. If you wanted to use a different notification mechansim - for example posting the failure information to a HTTP REST endpoint then you could open the existing 'Data360 Failed Schedule Email Notification' data flow, use 'Save As' to make a copy of the data flow and then replace the Send Email node in the new data flow with your custom logic that used a HTTP to send, for example, a HTTP Post request to the specified REST endpoint. The new data flow would be configured as the data flow to be run when a scheduled run fails (provided the schedule is configured with the On Failure - Send Email action).

Thank you. I'm able to use Data360 Failed Schedule Email Notification with the correct SMTP server details.
